St. Louis Missouri...36th Wedding Anniversary too!

June 19th & 20th took us to St. Louis Missouri after an all day bus ride following the Zions camp trail. After a lovely buffet dinner A memorable performance was done at the Scott Center (huge hocky venue), 8,500 or so came to this performance and were spiritually fed. This concert was SO powerful and energetic. I ask some afterwards on the bus ride home "how do you do this?" They answer "we don't know ourselves". It's a group effort for sure. By the way, this group is humble pie after a concert. They have literally given it all they have got and it's quiet, almost reverent and peaceful to ride home with them after a concert. Very touching.

Me, I was freezing with the air conditioning... On this trip I was either freezing or sweating all day long, hot/cold hot/cold.(not murmering, just a fact).Just not use to the Midwest Humidity.

At 6:00 a.m the morning after their concert, choir was to be ready for this stunning photo shoot across from our Motel under the 630 ft.St Louis Arch built 1963-1967.Standing hours on the grassy hill with the early sun beating on them and waiting for helicopter shoots, two fainted (men!). Glad we opted to sleep in.

At Breakfast, we get instructions for the day, we have learned to follow them or be left out OR behind. A SUPRISE was they had us stand as they clapped to us, we were celebrating our 36th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY (and our babys 28th birthday).

We celebrated an ANNIVERSARY HIGH by going to the TOP of the arch, this is cool. You can see the grassy area all around this arch, underneath it this general store, museum, gift shop, and a movie on Lewis and Clark expedition, even St. Louis Pizza.

To make a comparison we traveled some of the route Lewis & Clark took. They covered 4,000 miles in two and a half years, cost of 2,500 We will travel 3,700 miles at 2,500 per person in 2 weeks. We are so blessed.

Hope you enjoyed St. Louis & our anniversary with us, the Cardinals ball field was right next door, maybe you have been there? Tomorrow onto Winter Quarters...

Happy anniversary!! What a fun way to Celebrate such a milestone in your lives. The general store looks wonderful. Did you get some ideas to encorporate into your own store at home? What a trip of a lifetime!

Yes Christa I bought an old fashioned cd to play at Christmas time and found some spoon fudge that will be coming in, great for gifts and enough to endulge a womans chocolate needs all by herself!
Oops...I thought you mentioned the shop not Carls General store. As you can imagine he was in his height of glory there, course I was too.
We also found a General store restaurant one day, I will share later.
And YOU would know that it was a milestone for us,36 years, patience and long suffering (for him!) we got along just fantastic until he made me wait for the bus in the middle of all these antique shops, then I just tried to ignore him!!!

Looks like you guys had a wonderful time. Truly a life experience. Lucky you. And happy anniversary. You're a couple of years behind us. It will be 38 in Jan. Most of them good years.:) My grandkids left last night. House is too quiet. I'll be in this next week for a little retail therapy. Mimi
