Delightful blue and white

Victoria IS bliss...I love the delightful blue and white article, a fresh take on our color pallet in new blue issue.

This is Mr. Roses this morning...taking out the tile to be replaced with
distressed hardwood soon. He plays hard doesn't he!

It's been a long long time since I have used the color blue. We did just do our guest/grandchildrens bedroom/ playroom in a medium blue and cloud white with a scrolly brown carpeting.

I must say REFRESHING!

aDRESSING a need

North Ogden woman making dresses for girls in Africa caught my attention in the Standard Examiner this week, she is 78 year old Marie Vondrus.
She saw a story Brian Williams NBC news anchor did. Little girls
in Africa in desperate need of clothing, little dresses to make them feel feminine and pretty.
She said "I was so excited, I just thought, Oh my gosh, I can do this!" Her husband agreed.
At first she started with 25 pillow case style dresses, and now close to making 100 which was her new goal. Then she will send off and start again.
The organization is:  A nonprofit company that distributes the pillow case dresses to churches, schools and orphanages.
Wanted to share this story with you dear matter what our age we are always needed in some way to give service, even to those we may never see. She does hope to see a picture one day of the girls in her dresses. Wouldn't that be a thrill!

Can you imagine her happiness as she goes to her sewing maching each time with a fun piece of fabric and know that a little girl will feel so pretty wearing something she has so lovingly made.

Neat Marie...I don't know you but you are an example to myself and others!

Laundry room---disaster area--- beware

Rainy/snowy days LAUNDRY ROOM make-over

The cherry curtains come down and the yellow wall
will become blue sometime this week.
The blue wall was green earlier this week.

Placed on the blue wall will be my very
favorite Americana 20's lady liberty picture!

The display case above washer was emptied and painted
"Cloud white"  like all the wood work in the home now.
And vinyl talking display case lettering removed.

When I can get a decent picture (cloudy days not good for photos)
will show final results of laundry/bath.

LATER though because these rooms are really LAST on our list.

Blog below will show SOME of the make-over...for now.
This pillow is wonderful burlap

Carpe Diem
Sieze the day!
What a wonderful thought to start the day as we part from our home.

It's now in my newly painted entree way which goes
into the kitchen/laundry area.

Carpe Diem...Sieze the day in burlap

Laundry room make-over IN PROGRESS

Kind of the VINTAGE MODERN style

Chosing newly arrived burlap placemat on top of washing machine
placing antique marble chamber potty for holding laundry soap.

We have decided that after 15 years of the Antique oak housier in the kitchen
that the Laundry room would be a refreshing change.
A long runner of burlap with Carpe Diem on each end runs
across the top.
Our walls WERE green and yellow.
They are changing to aqua/blue and yellow.

The same runner is the new window treatment folded over a rod.
The white antique piece is a wooden dresser mirror holder upside down
and attached to the wall.
The wall behind this will be in blue/aqua.
Yes your seeing plenty of ridiculous snow.
If it were Nov. it would not be ridiculous, only beautiful snow!

A newly painted antique post I use as a towel holder.
The old borax soap dispenser is attached and the towel draped over it.
Not sure if the little bathroom will stay yellow or go blue.
Probably blue.

SHOE FAIRY...I like shoes that cost as much as a house payment!

Large colorful cards with neclaces
make a whimsical gift!

Lead me not into temptation...

New line of cards...$4.00
