GARDEN MEMORIES & ready for BIRTH-ing

We enjoy vintage sewn  pretty linens with flowers

And we Sing "I have a garden" from old Primary books etc.

We read poems and how to's on growing a garden
beginners and pro's

Some grow the most SPECTACULAR GARDENS EVER...
like My husbands brother Ron. This is just ONE ROW of his garden
I couldn't even begin to tell you how many plants there are.
He might could tell us.
It's his love and passion... it's also in his gene pool.

Here is Mrs. Cow...she is acting like anyone pregnant would behave in the morning
when a camera is pointed her way...

so this is THE END

Happy gardening with plenty of fertilizer to go around!

P.S. Since we are on the subject of Birthing..
on this bloglist under Feeding relationships
the new blog post is about things my mother taught me.
25 to be exact...for a good belly laugh you may want to read them.

In & Out Burgers... SAVED the Marriage

It MUST BE HOW IT GOT ITS NAME... as you can see from this menu
Love It... how easy is that!
ANYONE can say I'll have a #1 #2 or a #3

That is why it must be making BIG BooKoo Bucks
cause they get you IN AND OUT
The  red and white decor is quite refreshing.
Lots of kids too, but they go
IN AND OUT
REALLY FAST TOO!

Must show you the DRIVE-UP WINDOW MENU...
easy AGAIN!
and  AFFORDABLE
You just want to keep going back

Cheerful hard working employees

One was taking piles of the biggest REAL POTATOES
and slicing them fresh into these wonderful homemade french fries.
VERY CLEAN PLACE
even with lots of people
going IN AND OUT
ALL OF THE TIME.

But you really kept reading to see how it  SAVED OUR MARRIAGE
and since this is true I must go on...
Mr. Roses in the middle is smiling
He always does around food.

I'll make it quick...
It was our  38th Anniversary (to be fair we had a nice lunch that day) on our way to St. George.

We had a big antique shopping day the day before, I call it "working vacations"... then the drive etc.
and we wanted something light to eat
NOW GET THIS:
The Motel was close to McDonalds.
I know what your thinking... as I WAS SAYING THIS:
I am not going to McDonalds, haven't been there for 20 years and not going on OUR anniversary.
So HE starts driving anywhere and saying "well what do you want?"
As he is going to weird places with no restaurants and I just couldn't decide...IMAGINE THAT!

CAN ANY MAN JUST GO GET THE YELLOW PAGES???

I was having some very NAUGHTY WORDS go through my mind
and HE easily could have too!
(tired and old, old and tired)

Then low and behold I SPIED a sign that said In and Out Burgers
IT
SAVED THE MARRIAGE
and we lived HAPPILY EVER AFTER that episode
and most important HE had to APOLOGIZE!
(cause he didn't hold in as many words as I did in my opinion
and he drove left when he should have turned right
and it was our Anniversary
so he must be perfect on that day, right?)

That's how you stay married 38 years
(you keep most of those words inside of you the best you can)
and when THEY DON'T...they must fork out
alot of money to you as your gathering up
new clothes, more new clothes, cupcakes, vintage decor etc!

But now I have to stay this extra large size till the clothes wear out
Darn!

THE Good THE Bad and THE ORANGE

SOMERSET LIFE...ALWAYS GOOD...NEW ISSUE

Uh Huh...You are seeing this right...ORANGE car driver
has a sense of humor?
Home Depot shopper in Provo...does that explain it?

While searching for Burger Bar in Santa Clara we discovered since the passing
of Mark Hadley it was gone...we settled for the SWEET POTATOE FRIES at Fargos.
New owner, new name...probably not going back.
Texas Road House saw us 2 nights...that's right, they are having their RIB FEST...
whatever...so good and had to go back for a New York Steak
Love Summer time!

Sharing my dinner...oh thats just naughty if your hungry right now.

The ORANGE CONES ARE EVERYWHERE...and that is no exaggeration.
From the top of Utah to the bottom
Lead me... guide me... OH Orange Cones a plenty.

Literally the hallway through this house antique shop.
And you thought our isles were tiny.
I had to suck in and walk sideways.
Now imagine...each room in this place is like THIS
NO JOKE!
My kind of place for sure
Will blog a story on this place
Got to love it!
It's a REAL TREASURE HUNT
if you can't make it to St. George anytime soon
come Treasure Hunt at Just a bed of roses
We have been restocked with
vintage treasures too!

Birdnests, Cobwebs & vintage yard decor

Black Rocker makes a great porch chair...
whats that I see in the mirror...why it's the barber taking photos of the neighborhood
with HIS Fathers day camera

Diligently went in search of a gift for my babys 28th birthday...thought of
the birdnest plants for his new home.Proudly said we would even plant them.
However, he took off on a fishing trip. No respect!
We will have to celebrate our 38th anniversary
without him this year.
Yes, born on OUR day!

These are ours, and I adore them, they are a norway birdnest pine
or something like that.

These are something like succulent red cobwebs
they'll be just right for October
Bought them for him also
Guess what...we kept them ALL
they must be planted.
Think he will care...probably not!
Always on plan B...and plan B always works.

Vintage trellis for sale at the shop
it's a cutie pie!
Start you a collection around your yard.
and
Have a Happy Fathers Day week-end
shop hours Saturday: 11-3-4:00
come early!

AMERICAN SUMMER PAST TIMES...and driven

Camping back in the 40-50's photo available at shop
check out the old pop bottles off to the side.

Enjoyed reading this rags to riches autobiography of Larry H Miller
Titled correctly

This is Larry & his young  family at the All American Mount Rushmore
Have you been there?
Worth the trip

Larry was an avid baseball player
He had so much energy and ambition.
He had his glory days
and tells of regrets.

Till death do us part...but NOT this time.
I had Mr. Roses pull his frowny face as this may be his
last day with the red Toyota, he usually hangs on and on AND on to his vehicles.
a little sympathy here folks for him...please!
Can you see the new tree in place behind him?
Our lonely only pine

He now has a new big boy TOY
He's not quite sure how to handle this
and the smile is back on his face.

ALMOST... fits...not quite...lets move the junk a little further in
and lets try it again...

No minor feat...tah dah!!!

And this is what WE have done so far this summer.

Good luck with cleaning YOUR garage.
Maybe YOU could have a fantastic garage sale and I could come to it,
after all...this new truck can hold YOUR goodies
and I have some extra space inside!
well, not really.
darn.

Glory Days... Nostalgia

Let Freedom ring...times past SAILORS and their LOVED ones
black/white photos. The olde RADIO a center of attraction...where families
would gather around for news and story telling
for evening entertainment.

Joni has created some pretty spectacular fabric AMERICANA broach/pins
Bet you can't live without!
Why would you anyway?
One of a kinds

do you LOVE?
Newly painted Americana White bombay chest, a heavy solid piece of furniture ( not vintage.)
What about the shabby big RED  roses
table adornment...we're even COOL now (Mr. Roses made sure air cooler is ready
for our blast of hot air soon to be arriving).

VINTAGE LINENS ARE 20% OFF THIS WEEK
much much more than normal.

CURIOSITIES in the SUMMER TIME

Newly arrived Victoria pages display alluring CURIOSITIES from TEXAS
(I tell my husband these pages are WHY the garage/workroom  is piled so high)
wink wink...it works!
He agreed!
It's bad when two people love the same STUFF.

CURIOUSLY...discovered boxes of  TIME WORN clay pots this morning in the garage.
Yes...I will share them with you!
Plus SO MUCH more
You can't believe what's being discovered

Here goes our favorite Catalpa tree that we LOVED and have tried to save for 3 years
this season we must do what needs to be done.

Oh Painful
Off to the tree cemetary it goes.
Speaking of cemetaries...Carls 1968 Mustang has been buried deep inside the garage 15 years.
He had just fixed it up when we let our 16 yr. old drive it to school.
It was Mr. Roses second car, originally a gold mustang.
This is the results of the drive to school, rolled it into a drain ditch here in the country.
It's okay Tim we still LOVE YOU

Now Eldest son wants to restore it.

It brought back so many memories of our early dating/married years.
We laugh that I would take the kids to the Grandparents home on weekends, no seat belts
Nor car seats...4  little kids bouncing all around
And it was SO HARD TO DRIVE
but I didn't know any better.
And I have no idea how I did it when looking back...it sure was fun
listening to those Charlie Pride/Beach Boy 8 track tapes!

Ahhh... love SUMMERTIME CURIOSITIES

Because it seems like hurricane winds/rain  today we may close up shop a little early.
I hear the streets of Farmington are covered with branches.

Keys to our Past...

Jayna stays up late at night
so we can wear keys from the past... in the present
I'm up too late too...its because I got an amazing history book today from a customer
and  fell right into zzzzzz land while reading it.
zzzzzzz to everyone who is still up on facebook
and blogland.
How do you guys get up in the morning?

We took another TRUCK LOAD to the General Store in Layton
and more today.
Rusties, reds, some fun Olde stuff for you to enjoy.
N W corner of gentile and main in layton.
