Quick warm Romantic Get-away

warm... meaning 75 degrees. blue. sunny skies.

Historic Mission Inn . Riverside California
Would - a- been- a- Romantic- Get-away
excepting we took 5 grandchildren along!
(and that's just fine with us)

Grand staircase 4 or 5 levels high
all photo's from the top levels shown .
All antique. dark colors. rich architecture features.

Grand eating patios. convention rooms. wedding receptions.
caseys cupcakes and spa. Presidents lounge for evening gatherings.
This place takes up a huge block or more
and yet it's cozy.

Grand courtyards. outdoor parrots.
something unique in every nook and cranny.

In JANUARY you can get rooms for 109.00
not even kidding.
You may get a band below you and a
honey moon couple above you...(cough cough)
but...
what the heck...109.00 is a steal for this place!
insist on it if they tell you otherwise, okay.

You'll see lots of patina decor and solid oak church pews.
Green and floral  foliage abounds this place.
We were there last year...I showed other photo's.
took Carl along this year
knew he would love it...and he did.

Honey moon suites are on the top...just fabulous views
with romantic  private patio's.
You'll see couples just married or couples having their
photographs taken.

top of the roof... boxed herb gardens
so refreshing on our morning walking tour!

What children would go on  vacation and not want to go swimming
no matter how cold?

An hour north of Disney...
that is if you drive 85 mph and wind in and out
like a maniac!

The best...
 watching your grandchildren enjoy
"the happiest place on earth"
no matter how many people are standing in line.

WARNING
DON'T go superbowl sunday WEEK-END
and expect to be the only ones there.
Anyone not watching the super bowl
was HERE.

yellow tractor seats in a row for resting along the way

These would be fun in at your cabin or yard?
How exciting to run into Princess Snow white and get her autograph

Us old folk...well, looking at spring flowers in the dead of winter
was entertainment enough for us.

But still...we had to ride!
When was the last time you rode on
Indiana Jones or the Pirates?

cabbage roses. row after row.

Dining in ELEGANCE at the new Carthay circle
Classic movie palace

Delicious unique Southern California dining experience.
I'll suggest lunch with children.

Inside your surrounded with romance and refinement of Hollywoods Golden era.
Here is little miss Shirley temple.

There are treats/churo's, icecreams around every corner
to put a smile on your face
come on Carl...smile!

and candy coated apples
in any style you can think of.

Rest stops...
Those who wait patiently for grandma to have some
shopping therapy while on Disneys Main street.

And who can resist Downtown Disney for shopping?
Lots of fun there.
Wish there were more time
and ENERGY!

Taken while waiting in the 2 hour line into Cars or trucks or
whatever the heck...ridiculously long wait.
There are 5 buildings to wind in and out of for the line.
Dont let them deceive you at the entrance to this ride!
Just thankful for the 75 degree weather and family
to visit and hang out with.

We did 2 days...which is never enough
but there is always
next time!

When was the last time you were there?
