Telephone booth sign
One on every corner...
pre-cell phone era
The building we occupy was once a telephone central.
When you dialied 0 an operator would
say "number please" and you would tell her the
number to dial for you.
probably 1920's
I remember calling it in the 1950's
talk. talk. talk.
Usually there was a phone in every kitchen
with a VERY LONG STRETCHY CORD
PRIVACY
right!
1960's-70's aqua phones
(yes, we have an aqua and black one in the shop)
You could call anywhere in the world.
Only it had some hefty fees per minute.
With the use of cell phones and texting,
don't you feel like at times our heads are like one
big telephone?
Nice Halloween costume idea though.
